The Building Code Officials are responsible for the enforcement of the building codes, property 
maintenance codes and for ensuring that residential, 
commercial, and industrial properties meet standard minimum 
requirements.

Building codes generally include:

▪ Fire code rules to ensure safe evacuation in the event of a fire
